Mission and Benevolence

The Mission and Benevolence Committee oversees the outreach commitments of the Church by the Sea and also seeks to become more informed about the wider mission of the United Church of Christ. Therefore an important component of the Committee's work is to educate the congregation about its mission and outreach.  Through such tools as the Church's newsletter (the Sea Tidings), "Moments of Mission" in worship services, Faith & Life Forums, and the newly created Mission Fair (held for the first time in November 2007) the Committee markets the contributions and efforts of our congregation to help those less fortunate.

In 2007 Mission and Benevoence authorized the disbursement of $115,788 to Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM) of the United Church of Christ and our targeted outreach organizations (pull down and click on the Outreach tab for a complete list).
