Mission

TO BE A WORSHIPPING COMMUNITY
The members of this church worship the God who is revealed to us through Jesus Christ, the Scriptures, our Judeo-Christian heritage, and the traditions of the church.

TO BE A LEARNING COMMUNITY
The members of this church recognize that God is the source, the authority, and the center of our daily living. To maintain a living relationship with God, we must, at every stage of our life-journey, learn anew what God intends for us to do and become. We seek to provide nurture for all ages leading to growth in Christian Faith so that people may understand the meaning of their faith and its relevancy for their lives.

TO BE A CARING COMMUNITY
The members of this church are "members of one another." Therefore we care enough about each other to "weep with those who weep; and rejoice with those who rejoice." We acknowledge that we are created by God with the human need to give and receive love, to support each other in our life-journeys, and to be good friends with one another. To be a caring community means visiting the sick and shut-in, standing with the over-burdened, and sometimes simply being present with someone because there may be nothing more to give than our loving presence.

TO BE A HEALING COMMUNITY
The members of this church accept the commission of Jesus to make disciples of all peoples. We seek to introduce Christ with his healing love and saving faith to all who feel lost, hopeless, confused or in need of turning their lives around. We try to be channels of God's grace and Spirit, opening the way to healing and wholeness wherever we find hurt and brokenness.

TO BE A SERVING COMMUNITY
The members of this church respond as individuals and as a Christian community to the Biblical statement: "We love because He first loved us." Being loved by God, accepted just as we are, we have the power to love others. We stand ready to love all whom we encounter in daily life; in offices, schools, neighborhoods and community organizations, and we love through the sharing of our resources with those near and far who are in spiritual, physical or emotional need. We believe God calls us to formulate some new visions for our city, our country, and our world, and to be an instrument for peace and reconciliation among all people.

This is our mission: to be Christ's presence in the world, as a worshipping, learning, caring, healing and serving community.
